On 16th May 2021 Polish Border Guard celebrate it’s 30th Anniversary.
There are 18,000 uf us – 14,000 officers and 4,000 civilian employees. We protect borders of the Republic of Poland, following the Polish border traditions. We pay the same diligence to our duty on the border with our allies as on the external border of European Union.
We concentrate our attention to make sure that no uninvited guests – illegal imigrants or some „men in green”, known in recent years for their activity in the immediate vicinity of NATO’s Eastern Flank – enter Poland and further, into Schengen Area.
During past three decades Polish Border Guard has undergone a thorough transformation, losing its strictly military character and transforming into a fully professional police-type formation.
We suppress the influx of all kinds of contraband. We pursue organizers of human trafficking. We protect Polish economic interests on the Baltic Sea. We support our partners from the European Union in solidarity. Several hundred officers of the Polish Border Guard constantly mark its presence on missions in various regions of Europe.
We are a reliable link in the security chain in Poland and in the European Union.
While we are awake, European citizens can sleep, work and build their prosperity.
